About my floristry -

I have always loved being out in nature and my passion for floristry increased after I completed a floristry course to learn the ropes and about the different styles and designs of floristry. I am currently focusing on leading flower crown workshops, wreath making workshops as well as specialising in funeral floristry.

Why funeral floristry as a specialism? - In previous employment, I have worked as a Coroner's Officer, supporting bereaved families and as a Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages. During covid, we stopped registering the births and officiating the marriages so I was only registering deaths. I therefore spent most of my time speaking with bereaved families. These experiences have drawn me to floristry where again I can support bereaved families to give their loved one a beautiful send off.

How is my funeral floristry different? - One key thing I am passionate about is the move towards more sustainable methods of floristry. Traditional funeral floristry typically uses plastic and floral foam. My funeral floristry and workshop items are completely biodegradable, meaning once you have shared your tribute, it can naturally go back into the earth. I also focus on using locally grown seasonal flowers as much as possible. This means I focus on having a smaller range of designs on offer but all are made with thought and care. Flower Crown / Wreath Making Workshops

I lead natural willow flower crown and wreath making workshops where participants can create the base and decorate with beautiful fresh flowers and foliage. Items are made to be completely biodegradable so after wearing/ enjoying, can be added to compost or green waste bin. Great fun wholesome activity for hen parties, mini festivals, community events etc. Based in Macclesfield but can travel in the Cheshire / South Manchester area.
